Parfumeur | Fanny Bal
Spicy Road by Une Nuit Nomade is a unisex spicy, woody, vanilla eau de parfum, created by Fanny Bal. The house sets it in the Kerala backwaters, along the Malabar Coast in western India.
A Parisian house that composes destinations
Une Nuit Nomade was founded by Philippe Solas and Alexandra Cubizolles and is based at 91 Boulevard Saint-Germain in Paris. For this fragrance, the house names the locations precisely: the Alleppey lagoons, Vembanad Lake, the rice paddies, the pepper vines, and the port of Kochi, through which spices passed.
A pepper opening
The opening combines pepper and a clove leaf. The house itself says it: pepper is at the forefront, and it sets the tone for the entire fragrance.
A heart of incense and vanilla
The heart combines incense and vanilla. It is an unexpected accord—dry resin and sweetness—and it is what prevents the fragrance from being merely spicy.
A base of warm woods
The base brings together cedarwood, akigalawood—a molecule derived from patchouli, peppery and woody—and georgywood. The sillage remains warm and dry, without heaviness.
The house's approach
Une Nuit Nomade offers each fragrance in several sizes—2, 5, 50, and 100 ml for this one—which is rare in niche perfumery: you can enter the collection with the travel vial rather than the large bottle.
For whom, for what occasions?
Spicy Road is for those who love dry spices and peppery woods. A unisex eau de parfum for autumn, winter, and daytime.
