Parfumeur | Amélie Bourgeois & Anne-Sophie Behaghel
Suma Oriental by Une Nuit Nomade is a gourmand oriental woody eau de parfum, unisex, composed by Amélie Bourgeois and Anne-Sophie Behaghel, from the Flair collective. The name refers to the islands of Sumba, in Indonesia.
A Parisian house that composes destinations
Une Nuit Nomade was founded by Philippe Solas and Alexandra Cubizolles and is based at 91 boulevard Saint-Germain, in Paris. The house links this perfume to two precise references: the writings of Tomé Pires, who documented the sandalwood routes in Southeast Asia in the 16th century, and "A Suma", a Coty perfume from 1934 that evoked the beaches of Bali by moonlight.
An opening of cacao and rum
The opening combines a cacao, a rum and a cypress. A dark and warm start, drier than sweet.
A heart of patchouli alone
The heart contains only one ingredient: patchouli. It is a rare choice, and it is what the house highlights — the entire perfume is built to showcase it.
A base of five woods
The base brings together a tonka bean, a cashmeran, a musk, a guaiac and a sandalwood. The sillage becomes creamy and woody, with a long-lasting presence.
The house's approach
Une Nuit Nomade offers each perfume in four sizes — 2.5, 25, 50 and 100 ml, which is rare in niche perfumery. And each destination is entrusted to a nose chosen for it: here the Flair duo, elsewhere Nathalie Feisthauer, Jérôme di Marino or Annick Menardo.
For whom, for what occasions?
Suma Oriental is for those who love patchouli and creamy bases. A unisex eau de parfum for autumn, winter and evenings.
