Vanilla Haze by Fugazzi is a niche vanilla perfume extract, gourmand and milky, unisex. Bourbon vanilla is used twice — hence the haze in the title.

A fake word that means fake

FUGAZZI is a Dutch house from Amsterdam, founded in 2018 by Bram Niessink, whose imagination was sparked during a trip to Egypt with his grandfather. The name comes from fugazi, a 1970s Italo-American slang word meaning "fake", adopted by youth culture and movie mobsters: writing it with a double Z makes it a fake word that means fake. The house calls its approach "Storysmelling". Each formula also contains two patented odorless plant ingredients, whose combination aims to reduce feelings of nervousness and tension. The Extrait line boasts 30 to 50% fragrance oil, compared to 20% for eaux de parfum.

An opening of coconut and hazelnut

Coconut and hazelnut open on two milky and roasted materials. Lemon adds the only acidity in the perfume, just enough so that the opening is not already a dessert.

A heart of Bourbon vanilla and tonka bean

Bourbon vanilla settles in the heart, full and woody. Tonka bean doubles it with almond and cut hay, cashmere wood softens it and clove spices it slightly.

A base of vanilla, caramel and saffron

Bourbon vanilla returns, identical. Caramel thickens, musk lasts on the skin, and saffron brings a leathery bitterness that prevents the whole from becoming cloying.

The house's signature

The same vanilla used in the heart and the base. This is what produces the effect announced by the title: the material does not pass the baton to another, it superimposes itself on itself and forms a continuous blanket, a haze. Saffron is the other decision: a bitter and metallic material in an entirely sweet perfume, it is what prevents the vanilla from turning into a dessert.
