A house that makes its own materials

Les Indémodables was born in 2016 from the meeting of Valérie and Rémi Pulvérail. She was a beauty retailer and wanted to offer her customers an olfactory wardrobe; he had spent twenty years sourcing ingredients at Givaudan before founding his own laboratory, L'Atelier Français des Matières. That is where it all happens: the house does not order its raw materials, it extracts them itself. Some of its extracts are exclusive and cannot be found anywhere else—therefore impossible to copy. Antoine Lie is the creative director, alongside Florence Fouillet Dubois. And it is rare: each bottle indicates the percentage of expensive natural ingredients contained in the formula. The eaux de parfum are dosed at 20%, the Extraits Absolus at 40%.

An opening of dried fruits and floral notes

Dried fruits open on a concentrated sweetness, that of grapes and dried figs. The floral notes bring a brief clarity before the composition darkens.

A heart of tobacco, rum, and cocoa

Tobacco establishes the dried and honeyed leaf, rum the cane spirit, cocoa its rich bitterness. This is the heart of the perfume, and it resembles a smoking lounge more than a pastry shop.
