Wet Cherry Liquor by Bohoboco is a fruity, liqueur-like, gourmand niche eau de parfum, unisex, created by Michał Gilbert Lach. Cherry, in two forms.
A house that names its fragrances after their ingredients
Bohoboco is a Polish house based in Warsaw. It was born in 2009 as a fashion brand, founded by designers Michał Gilbert Lach and Kamil Owczarek. A first fragrance was released in 2012, before the collection was launched in 2016 — a project in which Lach, who had worked in hairdressing and makeup before moving into fashion design, says he found his true calling. The house's signature lies in its naming convention: each fragrance is simply named after two or three of its ingredients, without a story or character. Sea Salt Caramel, Vanilla Black Pepper, Wild Carrot Oud — and even provocative names like Magic Mushrooms or Polish Potatoes. The first compositions were created in Grasse, and the house has been awarded by the Fragrance Foundation UK, Vogue Beauty and Elle Style. Everything is available as a 50 ml eau de parfum, unisex.
An opening of cherry and liqueur notes
Cherry opens ripe and juicy, immediately doubled by liqueur notes — boozy, warm, and heady. A frank and straightforward start.
A heart of cherry syrup, strawberry, caramel and Turkish rose
Cherry syrup returns, this time thick and candied, with strawberry and caramel. Turkish rose balances the sweetness with its floral and slightly spicy facet.
A base of sandalwood, vetiver, tonka bean and vanilla
Creamy sandalwood and tonka bean establish a sense of comfort, vanilla extends the sweetness, and vetiver introduces a dryness that prevents anything from becoming cloying. The sillage lasts six to eight hours.
The house's approach
The same cherry in two forms. It appears twice in the fragrance pyramid — fresh fruit in the top notes, then syrup in the heart — allowing the fragrance to tell a story of transformation rather than just a fruity note: first the picked fruit, then the cooked and candied fruit. Turkish rose and vetiver are there to keep this gourmand quality sophisticated and prevent it from turning into candy.
For whom, and for what occasions?
Fruity, liqueur-like, and gourmand, this eau de parfum is for those who love boozy cherries and gourmand fragrances that retain their character. It is at its best from autumn to winter, in the evening, with no distinction of gender.
With Wet Cherry Liquor Bohoboco, Michał Gilbert Lach presents one of his house's bestsellers.
