A house born between Milan and Jakarta

The House of Oud was born in 2016 from the meeting of Andrea Casotti, a nuclear engineer graduated from the Politecnico di Milano who entered the perfume industry in 2006, and Mohammed Abu Nashi, an oud producer based in Jakarta. The house describes itself as a journey through the contemporary world, without boundaries between disciplines.

An opening of salty popcorn

The opening combines salty and crunchy popcorn, hawthorn — a white, almond-scented flower from the hedgerow — and caramel. Opening a perfume with puffed corn requires boldness; the caramel arrives from the very first stage to envelop it.

A milky and vanilla heart

The heart layers moonflower — this white, honeyed nocturnal flower —, a milk cream, and a creamy vanilla accord that the house calls ExaVanilla. The saltiness of the opening gives way entirely to the milky.

A base of ebony and vetiver

The base brings together amber, ebony, vetiver, and benzoin. This is the surprise of the composition: beneath the gourmand, a dry and woody base that gives it its longevity.

The house's signature touch

The house's oval bottles are marbled by hand by an artisan from Varese, using a technique that Andrea Casotti calls Life is Color. The process is never reproduced twice: no bottle is identical to another.
