FUGAZZI is an Amsterdam-based Dutch house, founded in 2018 by Bram Niessink, whose imagination was sparked during a trip to Egypt with his grandfather. The name comes from fugazi, an Italian-American slang term from the 1970s meaning "fake", adopted by youth culture and movie mobsters: spelling it with a double Z makes it a fake word that means fake. The house calls its approach "Storysmelling". Each formula also contains two patented odorless plant ingredients, whose combination aims to reduce feelings of nervousness and tension—an argument that makes perfect sense for a perfume bearing this name. The Extrait line boasts 30 to 50% fragrance oil, compared to 20% for eaux de parfum.

An opening of coffee and Bulgarian rose

Coffee is the very first note: roasted, bitter, with not a hint of citrus to soften the opening. Bulgarian rose accompanies it immediately, honeyed and full, while nutmeg adds its spicy warmth.
