Yama Rouge by Orens Parfums is a woody aldehydic floral eau de parfum, unisex, created by Marie Huguenot. Its top note contains only aldehydes — the structure of the great florals of the 20^th century.

The secret garden of four travelers

Orens Parfums is a Parisian house launched in 2018, and its origin is unusual: four traveling artists who did not know each other discovered that the word "Orens" appeared on each of their dream lists. They pooled their expertise to compose it in a bottle. Orens is described as a walled garden with astonishing columns, populated by rare flowers, and each perfume is a clue brought back from their quest. The house arranges its eaux de parfum in two collections, Bazi and Kadou — Yama Rouge belongs to Kadou —, and delivers them in a duo: a 50 ml bottle and its 50 ml refill, in a velvet pouch. The engraved metal case takes up the pillars of the garden: the house presents it as a collectible in its own right.

An opening of aldehydes

Aldehydes are not a natural substance but a family of molecules, whose scent evokes soap, a blown-out candle, and ironed laundry. Above all, they give a sparkling sensation and a diffusion effect: they push the rest of the perfume outward. Here they hold the top alone.

A heart of rose and jasmine

Two flowers, the two pillars of classic perfumery. The rose brings its honey and depth — the house keeps it for its beauty and elegance —, the jasmine its full and slightly indolic whiteness, which it calls mysterious. Nothing is added to modernize them: the bouquet is frontal.

A base of sandalwood, musk, and amber

The sandalwood brings its lactic creaminess, the musk the skin effect, the amber a resinous warmth. Three materials that close the perfume on a soft and enveloping base, and on what the house calls a sensual sillage.
