Verdant Delirivm by Santi Burgas is a fresh, vanilla-scented citrus eau de parfum, unisex, by Santi Burgas. Three citrus fruits, oregano, and two vanillas from different regions.

SANTI BURGAS presents itself as "an avant-garde, alternative designer perfume brand, born in the heart of the Mediterranean in 2008". The formulas are created in Torroella de Montgrí, in Empordà, in a former rice drying shed that the house calls its "ant colony". Verdant Delirivm is inspired by a poem by Hugo Ball, founder of the Cabaret Voltaire — the house remains true to its Dadaist roots. It offers two images from it: "the wind launches the dance of the foliage", and "a green and scented tickling among the flowers". The V instead of the U is a Latin graphic choice, claimed even in the address of the official sheet.

An opening of Calabrian bergamot, yuzu and orange

The Calabrian bergamot opens bitter and floral, the yuzu — this very tart Japanese citrus, greener and more floral than a lemon — brings the bite, the orange the juicy roundness. Three citrus fruits at once, two of which have their origin named.

A heart of Indian jasmine, Bulgarian rose, mint and oregano

The Indian jasmine and the Bulgarian rose establish an ample bouquet. The mint extends the vivacity of the departure instead of closing it, and the oregano — a culinary herb, extremely rare in perfumery — brings a dry and peppery bitterness that prevents the flowers from becoming tame.

A base of Madagascar vanilla beans, Bourbon vanilla and Haitian vetiver

Two vanillas answer each other: the Madagascar vanilla beans, richer and more cocoa-like, and the Bourbon vanilla, more woody and drier. The Haitian vetiver holds them with a green and smoky root. The base warms without ever extinguishing the freshness.

The house's gesture

Two vanillas from different regions under a citrus: it is an unusual investment, since most houses settle for a generic vanilla on a fresh perfume. Add oregano to the heart, and you get a summer perfume that has a bitterness and a base — two things that mass-market citrus perfumes never have.
